Now we’re at a point where we are eating real food and managing our carb intake. This is where “earning carbohydrates” comes back in.
Eating low-carb meals is very beneficial for fat loss, but doing it for a long period of time can slow down metabolic rate and thyroid function.
One way to precent this from happening is having one meal a week when you spike your insulin by having a large carbohydrate meal.
The beauty of this step is that it’s the easiest one to implement. Not too many clients fight me on this one.
Warning: If you have been eating clean and you choose to make your high-carb meal something gluten- or dairy-based, it might upset your stomach. I recommend experimenting with different foods you enjoy to find one that still keeps you feeling good after you eat it.
